Jennifer Asher, Executive Secretary, hails from Kingston, Jamaica. She lived in Jamaica with 7 siblings before migrating to the U.S. in the late 1970s. Her advocacy and volunteerism started when her two children were in high school in Washington, DC.
Her roles in NAJASO on the Executive Committee have included: Regional VP, Northeast; Executive Secretary (2 terms); Financial Secretary; Board Member at Large; and Membership Chair (7 years). She was instrumental in assisting the launching of the beginnings of NAJASO while she worked at the Embassy of Jamaica. At the local organization level as a member of Jamaican Nationals Association, she served as President, Vice President (2 yrs), Treasurer, Education Chair (7 yrs), Independence 50th Anniversary Ball Chair, and coordinated several other social activities for 18 years.
She is a Founding member of NAJASO and Statutory Agent for filing NAJASO tax-exempt records in D.C. She graduated from Ardenne High School in Jamaica, and pursued a Business Management degree at the University of District of Columbia.
